About

Since 1961, Queensbury-NY-based West Mountain has been conveniently located only 3 miles west of exit 18 off I-87, 40 minutes north of Albany, NY.

With stunning views of the Hudson River and the Adirondacks, West Mountain is the perfect activity center for families and individuals all year!

Winter is the Best at West! We’re open day and night (with lighted trails) for skiing, snowboarding, awesome terrain park features, tubing, and ski and snowboard lessons. Grab a snack or a meal at our state-of-the-art cafeteria in the main lodge, or the West Mountain Bar & Eatery upstairs in the main lodge, and at the Northwest Lodge, you’ll find a full bar, refreshments, and food items to warm you up. Our full-service Rentals & Tuning Shop offers quality ski and snowboard rentals, and precision tuning/DIN adjusting for all equipment from recreational to competitive race level. West Mountain Racing specializes in club and academy alpine race programs with athletes mentored by our world-class coaching staff.

There are 30 trails and over 126 acres, ranging from easy, gentle learning slopes to challenging, expert terrain. These days natural snowfall is anything but guaranteed. Thankfully with a dedicated snowmaking and grooming crew, we stay ahead of the curve during these challenging Northeast winters, covering over 80% of the terrain in snowmaking.

In the spring, summer, and fall, you can climb, zip, and navigate the 6 courses in the beautiful 5-acre Aerial Adventure Park at the summit, enjoy scenic chairlift rides that take you to the top for spectacular views, hiking and even downhill and cross-country mountain biking.

West Mountain hosts several annual events - Music on the Mountain outdoor concert with live music and fireworks in the summer, July & August weekly summer day camps for kids aged 6-15, sign up for any or all of the 8 weeks online, 2 Fall Festival weekends in October, Mountaintop weddings, Fire on the Mountain with live music, a torchlight parade, and fireworks in February, Slush Cup pond skimming challenge in the spring, Northwest Fest with live music and a BBQ at the tail end of ski season, and more.
